Malibu Lagoon is at the mouth of Malibu Creek on Malibu Lagoon State Beach (formerly Surfrider Beach, the famous 60's surf spot). For a little Malibu history stop by the adjacent Adamson House and Malibu Lagoon Museum. Also see the official California State Parks trail page for historical facts. Nature trails, wetlands, beach, the historic Malibu pier, beautiful foothill views, California native plants and a variety of birds
are found at Malibu Lagoon.
The beach trail is an easy walk for about 1 mile. You will find a trail map on the California State Parks Malibu page. If you are looking for more challenge
hike up the beach a couple of miles to Solstice/Corral Beach and then take the canyon trails at either Corral Canyon or Solstice Canyon.
Of course these are wildlands with all the usual dangers, described
on the safety page. Click any picture below to enlarge.
