Stein/Hale Nature
Trail
This is a short 1.5 mile hike round trip through a scenic riparian canyon with
a flowing creek, located in Rolling Hills Estates on the Palos Verdes Peninsula at the corner of Palos Verdes Drive N and
Palos Verdes Drive E. Park in the lot next to George F Canyon Nature Center. The nature center is open Friday,
Saturday, Sunday--operated by Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. The trails are open daily from dawn until dusk.
Choose between two trail heads leading into the canyon, one in the native gardens at the nature center or
walk down Palos Verdes Drive East to the second trail head just past the preserve sign.

As in all natural areas rattlesnakes are found in this preserve, in fact the day I visited a red diamondback
was resting at the side of the trail and didn't appreciate being disturbed by passing hikers. See my safety page for helpful information.
