Carpinteria Salt Marsh

Carpinteria Salt Marsh Nature Park, located in Carpinteria, CA.  This is a restored salt marsh with excellent views, well maintained trails, wildlife watching and plenty of interpretive signs along the way.  The trail leads along the outer edges of the marsh and down to the sand dunes and beach.  Only a few feet down the trail we were treated to the sight of the endangered Belding's Savannah Sparrow.  You will see a number of birds along the way.  This area is also home to several rare plant species.  From the Land Trust bridge you may see fishes and crabs in the water below.
